YORKSHIRE REGION: Another great turnout for the Yorkshire Breakfast Meet on 8th July 2017. A fabulous breakfast at The Oil Can in Hepworth, Huddersfield followed by a lovely drive through the beautiful scenic Peak District, made better by the lovely sunshine! All finished off with a welcome drink just outside Chapel en le Frith.
Members at the Derby Classic and Retro Show at Markeaton Park on Sunday 9th July 2017. A great venue with lots to see and do and a huge range of cars to keep everyone entertained.
A brilliant day out for members on Sunday 9th July 2017 at the Kimbolton Classic Car Show & Country Fayre. Plenty to see inlcuding a few hundred cars of various shapes and sizes, lots of stalls, food and drink, music, things for the kids, even a civil war type re-enactment. Even had a Spitfire fly past.
The Southern Area breakfast meet on Saturday 8th July 2017 at The Hanger Cafe at Fairoaks Airport near Chobham in Surrey.
Another great turnout on 8th July 2017 at the AV8 Cafe monthly breakfast meet in Cirencester.
A great day out on Sunday 2nd July 2017 at Dover Transport Museum in Kent followed by a wonderful BBQ at one of the members houses.
On Saturday 2nd July 2017 some of our members attended the Baston Car and Bike Show in Lincolnshire. With a rich automotive history, the car and bike show mixes the old with the new. It's now the largest show in the area and a must-do event for anyone interested in cars & bikes.
On Saturday 24th June 2017 we held our clubs first ever Open Day & Charity Event at our club HQ in Northfleet, Kent. Twenty-five cars attended the event. The day gave members the opportunity to look around the office and its surroundings and to enjoy a great family day out meeting other members and their cars. More importantly the whole day helped raise charity money for the Darent Valley Cancer Fighting Fund in memory of our local South East Member Ivor Harrison who recently passed away from Cancer.
With food and drink laid on all day as well as club merchandise on show and a number of other craft stands selling items such as jewellery, handbags, scarves, framed prints etc there was lots to see and do.
Although money is still coming it appears we have raised somewhere around £1,800 for the charity so a big thank you to everyone who came along and supported this event and our recent on-line charity auction.
A special thanks goes out to all the companies who kindly donated some great prizes for the auction and to our Guest Speaker Peter Leake who gave a couple of superb presentations on the Jaguar Le Mans years. Thanks also to THE EAST KENT CHORUS QUARTET, a local group who sing in the Barbershop style who provided some very joyful afternoon entertainment.
Our club stand at the Bromley Motoring Pageant on 18th June 2017 on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year so far this year. Fourteen cars present along with our very sociable South East following. Great day out.
Members at the Anglian Region breakfast meet on 18th June 2017. One of our members highly modified XK was in the line up for this monthly occassion.
Some Lincolnshire regional members got together with Regional Officer Barry Wood on 15th June 2017 at The Red Lion in Revesby, Lincolnshire for an evening dinner.
Members gathered together on Sunday 11th June 2017 for a tour of Cotswold Distillery. Famous for its Gin making, the distillery is set in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside, an ideal place to visit with our cars on a perfect summer’s day!
Anglian Regional Officer Derek Hill gathered together some members on Sunday 11th June 2017 for an afternoon tea at The Ickworth Hotel, Horringer, Nr Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk
Members went on a day out at the seaside on Saturday 10th June 2017. With reserved parking in the circular display car park outside the Seaton Jurassic Centre near Axminster in Devon. Members had lunch in the restaurant followed by tea/coffee and cakes in the afternoon. Members then went on the Seaton Tramway which went through the Axe Valley Wetlands Nature Reserve.
A group of members went on the XKEC Northern Ireland Tour over the weekend of 2nd-4th June 2017. Arranged by member Neil Silverthorne they were took to sights as the Titanic Centre, a private car collection and a trip up the Antrim coat road to Bushmills to visit The Giants Causeway and also a famous whisky factory.
Congratulations to all those who attended this NEW breakfast meet on Saturday 3rd June 2017 at The Old Control Tower Cafe within the Goodwood Race Circuit complex near Chichester in West Sussex. This new meet will alternate each month with another NEW breakfast meet at The Hangar Cafe at Fairoaks Airport near Chobham in Surrey. The next one will take place on Saturday 8 July 2017 at Fairoaks.
Another gorgeous day at Deal Classic Car Show on Saturday 27th May 2017. Superb attendance once again by many car clubs for a great family day out.
137 cars attended our 14th annual GROWLER event on Saturday 20th May 2017 at Holdenby House in Northamptonshire. A big thank you to everyone who attended and to all those who supported the whole event.
A small group of members got together and boarded The Flying Scotsman as it came to South Wales on 19th May 2017, The route took members from Newport station and around the Severn estuary.
Members attended the Royal Windsor Jaguar Festival on 6th May 2017. A great day out for all Jaguar owners and enthusiasts.
A special St. George's Day visit to the Spitfire & Hurricane Museum in Ramsgate (Kent) followed by a convoy run and Picnic on the beach at Westgate on Sea on 23rd April 2017
