Regional Officer: Trevor Hodgetts
Areas covered: Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, South Worcestershire, Monmouthshire, Staffordhshire and Shropshire.
Greetings to all XKEC members and friends, my name is Trevor Hodgetts. I am the Western Shires Regional Officer, I live in the shadow of the Malvern Hills with my wife Diane and son Tom, our Jag is a Carnival Red X 100 Coupe built in 1996.
At Western Shires, we are a very interactive group with all members having equal input as to our varied event calendar. We do not have a designated monthly meeting place, but choose different locations around the Western Shires area. We are always actively looking for new members to join our club, including interacting with the owners of XK cars at shows + car parks.
An annual calendar of our gatherings alongside club events is sent out to Western Shire members in Dec and updated quarterly for the following of our monthly social events, including Sunday Lunches.
Drives around the lovely areas of the Cotswolds and Worcester/Herefordshire countryside. Special events of interest such as Shelsley Walsh Nostalgia Weekend, where we set up the gazebo for the comfort of not only our group but any other like minded enthusiasts, or anyone who needs shelter from the rain or sun. It’s a great way to meet people and introduce them to the attributes of the XKEC.
Also for the national events such as Growler or the Black Country Museum visit, a central meeting point is decided and those that wish can convoy to the destination.
Sunday Lunch Meets are spread around around the extensive area of Western Shires, keeping the journey time within an hour if possible. Interaction with other areas of the XKEC is very important to us and we will combine whenever we can get a joint assembly organized.
The monthly breakfast meeting is organized by Alan Richell at the Trouble House and he provides details below.
A sample of our Sunday Lunch and days out can be viewed below. For any further information or inquires, please contact me by the forum or direct at email@example.com.
We are a very friendly bunch and if advice is requested, usually one of the group can help. To any XK/XK8/XKR enthusiasts in the area, if you would like to come along to any of our events, you would be made very welcome. Safe and enjoyable Jaguar motoring to you all.
A Breakfast meet normally takes place every second Saturday of each month at 09.30/10.00am at :
The Trouble House Inn, London Road, Tetbury, GL8 8SG.
This is on the main road towards Tetbury and is just as convenient for everyone inbound from all different points of the compass.
