Badcat Jaguar XKR ‘Badcat Special’
The Jaguar 4.4 litre XKR X100 ‘Badcat Special’. FOR SALE for the first time in 14 years
The 'Badcat Special’ with 805 Nm Torque and 632 Hp, has been considered as the most modified road-going X100 in existence. (GRRC and Jaguar World) See the 'Badcat' website www.badcatjagupgrades.co.uk for technical spec's, modifications, timeline history and Jaguar Worlds' eight page road test feature and performance critique.
The new owner of the ‘Badcat’ will have a totally unique, well known and respected vehicle, modified with the expertise of highly experienced and well known Jaguar and race trained technicians spanning many disciplines. Thirteen years of R&D, fabricating bespoke upgrades, in both power development and aero, has culminated in a unique road / track day Jaguar.
Specially Whipple Supercharged, with mechanical throttle body and bonnet scoop plenum fed induction, the ‘Badcat Special’ with its’ stand alone ECU delivers its’ huge torque and power through a 6 speed Tremec manual gearbox / Mcleod twin plate clutch and Quaife differential.
CKL Racing collaborated to build an integral swirl pot, foam filled race style tank to accommodate the two Walbro 450 fuel pumps and dash 6 fuel lines. Induction is Superchilled with separate heat exchanged / refrigerated charge coolant and the bespoke fabricated 4-2-1 tubular stainless Zircotec ceramic coated headers and downpipes breathe a fabulous throaty V8 note.
The all ‘Ally’ hand-built Splitter and traditionally fabricated rear wing and Nitron dampers help keep the Badcat on the ‘black stuff’. And the FIA approved race seat and harness maximise driver stability in the cockpit.
The ‘Badcat Special’ is a well known car in Jaguar circles, having been awarded excellence trophies and primary exhibitor positions, including selection for Goodwoods’ GRRC Annual Display. Magazine features in Jaguar World and Jaguar Magazine Australia.
An exciting track day car, the ‘Badcat Special’, with its’ progressive throttle body and huge torque even from low revs, is comfortably tractable and perfectly well behaved in road use too and has a new MOT from October 2021.
The R&D costs spreadsheet with all paper back-up invoices to achieve development of this unique Jaguar, now totals well in excess of £150,000. . It has a Guaranteed Value Certificate for £50,000, accepted by two leading insurance companies.
Determining an appropriate price for such a unique and high spec’ car has been difficult. Advice from those experienced in the specialist auto trade, including two auction houses, suggests an asking price of £49,850 which includes the additional set of track day wheels with 888 tyres and various spares. The ‘marketplace will finally decide’ on value. Offers will be considered.

I’ve decided to sell my XKR a wee bit reluctantly but I’m moving on to maybe something newer. I’ve only had this one for just over a year but in that time I’ve had both rear arches all done sealed and painted = cost about £800 and a two stage paint correction plus a 3 year ceramic coating in February 21. Recently serviced and three new tyres it’s never wanted for anything. 67k on the clock and hardly used and well looked after by previous owner, it was the best one I could find when I looked. Plate included.
